PARISH DOINGS.

BUPA - NURSING HOME -  there will be a Mass at the Nursing Home on Saturday 24 July.  Would helpers please be at the Nursing home by 10.00am to assist in bringing the residents down to the Mass.   Thank you.  Call John Malycha 6251 2912.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL (PPC)

The new PPC has been formed and will have their first meeting on Tues 27 July.

St Vincent de Paul Society

 

HELP PLEASE. Aranda Parish St Vincent de Paul Society is calling for Volunteers to help in our weekly visits to people in need in our local community.  If you can help, especially if you have been a past member and can assist even in a limited way please contact Stewart Chapman on 62556968.

 

Help is also needed with BINGO at BUPA residential care.  Bingo is held each Wednesday evening from 6.00-7.30pm.  If you can help please call Ralph Peters 6251 2640.

 

The Aranda Conference of the St Vincent de Paul Society meets at the Parish Centre on Monday nights - excepting Public Holidays.  Stewart Chapman on 62556968.

 

 The  WINTER APPEAL is now in progress.  Good clean winter clothes and blankets may be placed in the box in the foyer.  Envelopes are available for monetary donations.

HANDYMAN -Someone with experience who can replace loose and broken bathroom tiles.

GARDENING EQUIPMENT - If you have any garden tools that you no longer need please call the parish office 6251 1525 or Geoff 6278 4658 and we will arrange for someone to collect it.

 

   

Canberra YMCA offers many older adult exercise programs every week.  Locations and times vary – contact 6281 0124 or woden@ymca.org.au for further details. 

One such program is held in the auditorium at Calvary Haydon Retirement Village, Jaeger Circuit Bruce. 9-10am, Mon & Fri in the main general meeting room.  Cost: $6.50/class or $60 for 10 visits.  Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy supportive footwear. 

Group class - for 60+yrs, who have moderate physical ability.

The Canberra based not-for-profit organisation has offered accommodation, counselling and health and financial advice services to pregnant and postnatal women since 1997 but since the global financial crisis it has experienced a major drop in funding.
